Anti Wrinkle injections and Chemical Peels:  This article is intended to give honest and clear advice to our readers and does not promote prescription products.

Anti Wrinkle injections and Chemical Peels – which comes first?

Both procedures target different signs of aging and actually complement each other. While each treatment aims to enhance your skin’s appearance, it’s very important to time them correctly. Chemical peels should be done before having Anti-Wrinkle injections.

Schedule your chemical peel first and follow up with your Anti-Wrinkle treatment 2 weeks later. The reason for waiting, is to avoid complications and ensure safe predictable results, by giving your skin time to heal before being injected.

Anti Wrinkle injections work on your muscles, while chemical peels treat skin imperfections. This simple precaution of allowing a gap of 2 weeks between procedures will ensure safe and optimal results.

Can I get a Chemical Peel after Anti Wrinkle injections ?

In an ideal world, you should have your chemical peel before your Anti-Wrinkle injections. But, don’t worry, it is usually safe to get a chemical peel 2-3 weeks after your injections.

Be patient and try to avoid rushing in. Getting a chemical peel too soon afterwards can interfere with your Anti wrinkle treatment and based on your skin’s sensitivity could cause undesirable results.

Never have a medium or deep chemical peel immediately after Anti-Wrinkle Injections, as your skin needs time to heal at the injection sites.

Optimal timing between Chemical Peels Before Anti Wrinkle injections :

Mild Peels: 2 weeks before.

Medium Peels: 4 weeks before.

Deep Peels: 6 weeks before.

Recommended timing between Chemical Peels After Anti Wrinkle injections

Mild Peel: wait 2 weeks. This allows time for the Anti Wrinkle injections to take full effect before the skin is exfoliated.

Medium Peel: wait 2-4 weeks. Medium peels require more time to allow the Anti-Wrinkle Injections to fully diffuse before the skin is treated.

Deep Peel: wait 4-6 weeks. Deeper peels need a longer waiting period to minimize the risk from chemicals interacting with residual Anti-Wrinkle treatments in the skin.
