Yes, it is safe to have Cosmetic Injectables after your Flu or COVID vaccines.

If you are already vaccinated or planning to get vaccinated before your next treatment, you have no reason to worry!

Flu  and COVID- 19 Vaccine Contraindications

Usually, there are no contraindications when it comes to most vaccines & aesthetic injections. Because COVID-19 vaccines are so new, it is difficult to give a 100% guarantee.

To date, there is no official guideline that recommends avoiding Cosmetic Injectables after your COVID-19 vaccine. So far, the vaccine itself does not appear to have any contra-indications for Anti Wrinkle injections or Dermal Fillers.

Dr. Hamilton advises prioritizing your Flu or COVID vaccination over your aesthetic injections as protection is essential to your health and safety.

What is the Safest way to have injectables and COVID vaccination?

Dr. Hamilton recommends that you avoid any type of aesthetic treatments when you are sick.

Because you cannot predict how your body will react to the Flu or COVID vaccine, he advises against having HA dermal filler injectables in the week before or two weeks after you are being vaccinated .

Wait 48 hours after your Booster vaccine before having your regular Anti Wrinkle injectable treatments. This will allow time for potential symptoms from the booster vaccine to appear. If you feel any side effects – best to postpone until you feel well.

Wait 1 week after any type of vaccine before having your First Time Anti Wrinkle treatment. This will allow time for potential side effects from the vaccine to subside.

Wait 2 weeks after your jab before you have First Time Dermal Fillers or Profhilo

If you don’t experience any unusual side effects to the vaccine, you should be fine to have your injectables.

Stay on the Safe Side

Always stay on the safe side – Let your doctor know if you’ve had a Flu or Covid vaccine when booking your appointment.

Dr. Hamilton would always tell you to prioritize your health & protect yourself against any viruses.

If you are invited for your Flu or COVID jab, contact our office and reschedule your anti aging treatments for a later date!

Since the COVID-19 vaccination rollout began in January 2021, we have been conducting an ongoing internal clinic audit on the possible effects of these vaccines on anti wrinkle injections results. The data collected is taken from voluntary feedback from our patients.

To date our patients are not suffering any adverse side effects from having aesthetic treatments after their COVID jab.
