WHAT IS BABY BOTOX ?

BABY BOTOX WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

WHAT IS BABY BOTOX?

It is a soft anti-wrinkle injection treatment that gives you a fresh less wrinkled look whilst your face is at rest. Your wrinkles will appear softened but NOT completely removed. You will still have lots of movement and expressions on your face. The toxin is injected in the usual areas but a smaller dose is used. These injections are applied with pinpoint precision to ensure beautiful natural results, whilst still retaining movement in the facial muscles

WHY ARE YOUNGER WOMEN HAVING IT DONE?

Baby Botox is a more a preventative treatment than a corrective procedure. It has been on trend amongst celebrities & social media influencers for several years now. In fact, you’ve probably seen it on many of your friends but not realised it!  That’s the appeal of Baby Botox injections.  They are  VERY SUBTLE  and also can be helpful in reducing the appearance of enlarged pores & inhibiting oil production.  Botox injections work by freezing targeted facial muscles to keep you from contracting them. This in turn prevents existing lines and wrinkles from getting deeper over time.

At our clinic the earliest age for Baby Botox is usually 28 years because in reality, a lot of people in their 20s don’t have lines that need treating yet – Your expression lines are part of who you are and not necessarily something you should try to hide !

WILL IT SUIT ME?

In our practice we see two types of patients who use Baby Botox.

1) First time Botox patients who are nervous about having this type of treatment and are afraid of looking frozen. This is a perfect injection procedure for “Sticking your toe in the water” to see if you like the look. The results can very be subtle and often barely noticeable.

2) Younger patients use Baby Botox  injections to prevent deep wrinkles and frown lines appearing as they grow older.

It’s important to have real expectations from these type of injections. Botox will not get rid of all wrinkles on your face—it helps to smooth wrinkles made from facial expressions”

** Baby Botox is SUITABLE  for women with fine lines, in their late 20’s to early-30’s.  If you have a deep frown lines, Baby Botox probably will not give good results as stronger doses of toxin are needed to successfully treat those types of lines **

HOW LONG DOES BABY BOTOX LAST

Some patients need these treatments every few months as a way of topping- up the results achieved with their traditional Botox treatment. The length of time between treatments depends on patient lifestyle and the naturally refreshed look that they want to maintain.

Patients who choose ‘Baby Botox’ need to return more often for their treatments as their results do not last as long. Following their first treatment, patients usually come back after 2-3 months for their second treatment. Traditional Botox® treatments last longer and are scheduled every 4-6 months.

At our clinics we have noticed that patients who switched to Baby Botox almost always change back to their regular dosage. They are under whelmed with the shortness of the duration of the results and dislike the quick return of extreme movement to their face which in turn allows their facial muscles to scrunch up and form wrinkles.

DOES IT HURT?

The injections do not hurt- there is a slight “pinch” that you will feel at the injection site. Some patients say they experience a mild stinging with each injection but little or no pain. Consultation and injecting takes 20 – 30 minutes. No Downtime.

It is OK to go to the gym after the procedure but don’t lift weights that day. Wait 24-hours before hitting the weights or doing any real cardio. Your face needs a few hours to naturally heal. Going to the gym might metabolize the toxin prematurely in your system, thereby wasting your money and time. No alcohol that day either !

How to Choose the best Botox doctor

HOW MUCH BOTOX IS INJECTED?

Baby Botox : Micro-doses of Botox are injected instead of the full standard dose.  The amount of Botox units used is the equivalent of one area of Botox being spread over 3 areas of your face. Dosage is approximately 24-26 units of toxin. Instead of injecting the standard dosage of 26 units into the glabellar frown lines with baby Botox injections, only 16 units could be used with  just 10 units injected around your eyes lines. Cost is €260 or £150.

Soft Botox is better for patients with slightly more pronounced lines. The amount of Botox units used is the equivalent of two areas of Botox spread over 3 areas of your face. Dosage is approximately 40-44 units of toxin. Cost is €350 or £250.

** Please be advised that the aim is NOT to eliminate all your wrinkles but to soften their appearance and smooth your skin **

WHAT HAPPENS IF I STOP TREATMENT

If you regularly get Botox injections will certainly look much younger and have fewer wrinkles. Patients ask if their face will become wrinkled when they stop using Botox. Dr. Hamilton advises “If you choose not to continue, your skin won’t develop lines overnight—you’ll still enjoy looking years younger relative to your age, depending on how long you kept up your Botox treatment program”.

ONLY USE AN EXPERIENCED AESTHETIC DOCTOR

Always use an experienced practitioner who is skilled at their work. It is all about technique when injecting Botox. The amount of product used in Baby Botox is very important. While you may choose to have less than the full standard dose, it very important that the person treating you injects the right amount into the right areas if you want to achieve a good aesthetically pleasing result.

The Botox must be precisely placed so that the lower dose is able to have a much greater effect. Treatment areas are personalised for each patient. The aim is to target the injections where they are most effective.
